How to adjust the brake light switch and check brake pedal freeplay on Lexus ES300?

Brake light switch is located below top bracket of brake pedal. Disconnect wiring harness at brake light switch. Loosen the locknut and unscrew switch from pedal bracket. The reverse of removal is installation. Check and if need be, adjust brake pedal height. Loosen the switch locknut, set it to ensure that the distance the plunger protrudes is within the range. If you can't measure this distance, move the plunger gently against the pedal stop. Tighten the locknut. Plug electrical connector into switch, reconnect battery. Ensure that when you depress brake pedal, brake lights come on and off when released. Else repeat until the brake lights are functioning properly as required by adjustment procedure described above. Check and if necessary adjust brake pedal freeplay.
