- A:To begin the removal process, disconnect the battery cables in the order of negative first, then positive. Use a screwdriver with a taped tip to prevent scratching, and pry off the center instrument cluster finish panel. Proceed to pry out the center console upper panel from the console, and if dealing with manual transaxle models, remove the shift knob. Lift the armrest and the cover plate at the floor of the armrest compartment to access the screws for the rear console box. Remove the screws at the front of the rear console box and take out the box. Following this, remove the front console screws and lift the console over the shift lever. Disconnect any electrical connections and proceed to remove the console from the vehicle. For installation, follow the reverse steps of removal.Posted by LexusPartsNow Specialist
