When functioning correctly, the flasher emits an audible clicking sound during its operation. If turn signals fail on one side and the characteristic clicking is absent, a faulty turn signal bulb is likely. If both turn signals do not blink, potential causes include a blown fuse, a malfunctioning flasher unit, a broken switch, or a loose/open connection. If a visual inspection of the fuse box reveals a blown turn signal fuse, check for wiring shorts before replacing the fuse. To replace the flasher, pull it out of its holder and unplug it, ensuring the replacement unit matches the original. Installation involves reversing the removal process.

Suspected relay malfunctions can be tested by removing and assessing them. If found faulty, relays should be replaced as complete units.
