Before removing the hood, wrap cowl and fender areas with cushions to protect the vehicle from damage. Before starting, disconnect everything that might get in the way: the wires connected to the hood, and the windshield wiper tubing that runs from the nozzles. Get your assistant to hold the hood while you mark hinge spots where it should match up when reinstalling, so you can put it back correctly later. Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts between the hood and hinges, and lift off the hood immediately. To properly replace the hood, place the bolts back where they stood last time you removed it. To make front and side adjustments to the hood, just move the hinge plate after releasing the bolts, marking all sides to track the changes. Unscrew the bolts, move the hood to the right spot, and fasten the hinge bolts while confirming everything looks correct by touching the hood down gently. You can fix the hood's latch assembly by carefully making adjustments all around on the radiator support, mark where the assembly bolts are now, then move them to new positions and tighten them properly. Finish by making sure the hood rests evenly on the radiator supports. Then, put white grease on the hood latch and hinges a few times each year to stop them from sticking and getting worn.
