To remove the fuel tank, first, relieve the fuel system pressure and detach the battery cable. If the tank is full, siphon the fuel into an approved container. Raise the vehicle and remove the exhaust system from the center exhaust pipe to the rear. Disconnect the fuel lines, vapor return line, and fuel inlet pipe from the tank fittings. Support the tank with a floor jack and remove the retaining straps. Lower the tank enough to disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump/Fuel Level Sensor and remove the tank. To install, reverse the removal steps.
