How to Troubleshoot and Repair Issues with the Coolant Temperature Gauge and Coolant Temperature Sensor on Lexus ES300?

To troubleshoot the coolant temperature gauge, check the fuses. Once you are installing the new unit, tighten it securely without using thread sealer.
