How to remove and install Trunk Latch on Lexus ES350?

Remove the trunk lid trim panel by removing the plastic fasteners that secure the trunk trim panel and latch trim cover. Scribe a line around the trunk lid latch assembly for a reference point to aid the installation procedure. Detach the two retaining bolts and remove the latch. Disconnect the latch release cable or actuator rod and the electrical connector from the latch. Installation is the reverse of removal. Open the trunk and remove the trunk lid trim panel by removing the plastic fasteners that secure the trunk trim panel. Remove the lock cylinder rod from its clip and remove the lock cylinder mounting bolts. On models so equipped, disconnect the electrical connector from the lock. Remove the cylinder from the trunk. Installation is the reverse of removal!
