Lexus RX330 A/C Condenser

The Lexus RX330 A/C Condenser keeps the cabin temperature comfortable by removing heat from the cabin by converting hot high-pressure refrigerant gas to a cooled liquid during summertime driving. Positioned directly in front of the radiator in all Lexus RX330 models, the A/C Condenser is an aluminum heat exchanger system that employs a series of narrow tubes and very compact fins to use outside air to strip away energy that the refrigerant has picked up inside the cabin and during the compression process. Once the vapor has released its warmth, the A/C Condenser allows it to return to its liquid form before the flow continues on towards the accumulator and the stage is set for the chilled air to move into the vents. Early RX330 models and later years have the same basic construction of parallel flow, so the driving principles of cooling are the same throughout the line. Minor differences include mounting tabs or hose angles instead of the way the A/C Condenser handles refrigerant, i.e. performance remains consistent regardless of the date of production. Thanks to materials that resist corrosion, the A/C Condenser remains light but durable, providing reliable temperature control for every Lexus RX330 owner who values a calm climate inside a Lexus vehicle.

Lexus RX330 A/C Condenser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do I remove and install A/C Condenser on Lexus RX330?
    A:
The receiver/drier should be replaced whenever the condenser is replaced. Begin by having the refrigerant discharged by an air conditioning technician. For Highlander models, remove the radiator grill, while for Lexus models, the front bumper needs to be taken off. On Highlander models, either remove the radiator support structure or the radiator upper mounts. Disconnect the inlet and outlet fittings, capping the open fittings immediately to prevent moisture and dirt from entering the system. For 2013 and earlier models, remove the mounting fasteners, push the radiator back toward the engine, and then push the condenser rearwards until it is free of the radiator support and can be pulled up and out of the vehicle. For 2014 and later models, squeeze the upper retaining clips together to unclip the top of the condenser, then lift it straight up and out. For 2013 and earlier models, install the condenser, brackets, and bolts, ensuring the rubber cushions fit properly on the mounting points. For 2014 and later models, slide the condenser down until the two tabs on the bottom are inserted into the slots, then press the top corners onto the clips until they lock into place. Reconnect the refrigerant lines, using new O-rings where necessary, and reinstall the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal. Finally, have the system evacuated, charged, and leak tested by the shop that discharged it.
