Lexus 69057-48160 Cylinder & Key Set, Ignition Switch Lock

Do put on gloves while working around the door opening to avoid cuts from the sharp metal edges. To take out the door latch, open the window and remove the door trim panel and watershield. Disengage the rods from the handle and lock cylinder through the large access hole. At the latch, cut off all electrical connectors and release all handle-to-latch cables. Unscrew and lift out those latches that have been screwed into their places within doors. To remove outside handle and door lock cylinder assembly, raise window and remove door trim panel and watershield. Work via hi aperture unclip plastic fasteners securing outside door lock to latch rod and outside door handle to latch rod. Take plug out of end of door, remove screw holding in lock cylinder. Unfasten bolts holding handle onto inside of door; remove handle frame with it. For inside door handle removal take off door trim panel first. Remove screws that fixate handles into place in a panel.

Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition switch by depressing the release tab and pulling off the connector. Remove the ignition switch retaining screws and detach the switch from the Ignition Lock Cylinder housing, then installation is the reverse of removal. Place the ignition key in the ACC position. If the vehicle has an immobilizer system, disconnect the electrical connector from the immobilizer module, then slide the immobilizer module and the Ignition Lock Cylinder illumination ring as a single assembly. Use an awl or punch to depress the Ignition Lock Cylinder retaining pin and remove the Ignition Lock Cylinder from the housing by ensuring the lock cylinder is in the ACC position, inserting the awl or punch into the small hole in the housing, pushing it in to depress the retaining pin, and pulling out the Ignition Lock Cylinder. To install the lock cylinder, depress the retaining pin and guide it into the housing until the retaining pin extends back into the locating hole. The remainder of installation is the reverse of removal. Remove the knee bolster panel and center trim panel. Using a trim tool, carefully pry the switch panel out from the instrument panel, then disconnect the electrical connector from the engine start switch and remove the switch from the back side of the panel, with installation being the reverse of removal.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the immobilizer module, then slide the immobilizer module and the key lock cylinder illumination ring as a single assembly.

Raise the window. - Remove the door trim panel and watershield.- Disengage the plastic clips that secure the outside door lock-to-latch rod and the outside door handle-to-latch rod through the access hole.- Remove the plug from the end of the door.- Remove the lock cylinder retaining screw.- Unbolt the handle from the inside of the door.- Remove the handle and the handle frame.
