First, open the hood and cover the fender and cow area with blankets or pads to stop body and paint damage during the hood removal. Pull out any cable or wire that could block your way, and make two marks exactly where the hood hinge attaches. Take off the support struts by pushing outward the clips located at the top end. Have someone hold up the hood while you take out the bolts at its lower corners. Backward installation makes sure the hinges fit exactly where we marked before. To adjust the hood, remove the bolts or nuts and shift the hinge plates into place, remembering that factory bolts align everything automatically but require regular bolts for adjustments. Loosen bolts and measure where the hinges lay, then adjust the hood into proper alignment and tighten bolts again. When you need to, adjust all parts of the hood latch assembly at the radiator support, making sure it fits perfectly against the fenders. Keep track of where you put the mounting bolts for future reference as you move the assembly around. Finish by fixing the hood bumpers on each fender front edge so the hood sits flat when you close it, and spread white lithium-based grease on the hood latch assembly and hinges to stop them from sticking and breaking down.
