Before removing the tie-rod, unscrew the wheel lug nuts, lift the front end of the car, put on jackstands, secure the rear wheels, engage the parking brake and then take off the front wheel. Subsequently, using the locking pliers or a wrench, loosen the jam nut sufficiently in order to compare the present position of the tie-rod with the end of the new, installed tie-rod end threaded for the same turns. When you can do this from the steering knuckle arm use a puller to remove the nut that will help you to separate the tie rod, remove the cotter pin and loosen the nut on the tie rod end stud closest to the centre of the vehicle. Disconnect the tie-rod end from the tie rod. For installation, slide the tie-rod end into the position marked and pass the threaded stud through the steering knuckle arm; then tighten the jam nut. Screw the castle nut on to the stud and tighten to the recommend torque. Last but not the least, place the wheel properly and tighten the lug nuts in the right manner that is to the recommended torque, then lower the car, then check the alignment by a dealer service department or an alignment shop.
