To check the engine mounts, you should raise the vehicle and securely support it on jackstands. Position a jack under the engine oil pan and place a large block of wood between the jack head and the oil pan. Raise the engine slightly to remove the weight from the mounts. Do not position the wood block under the drain plug. Then, visually inspect the mounts for signs of damage and use a large screwdriver or pry bar to check for any movement. If movement is observed, lower the engine and tighten the mount fasteners. Applying rubber preservative to the mounts can help slow down deterioration.

V6 models have a shock absorbing mount, which is mounted between the engine and chassis. It is located to the left of the conventional front engine mount.
