To install, reverse the process, using a new gasket and tightening the mounting bolts. Check and adjust the coolant level if needed.

Begin the repairs of 2004-2007 Toyota Highlander, Lexus RX300, and Lexus RX330 vehicles by removing the air intake duct from throttle body inspection for carbon build-up; proceed with aerosol carburetor cleaner and toothbrush cleaning followed by safety checks of oxygen sensor systems and catalytic converters for the chosen cleaner. The first step requires both disconnecting the negative battery cable and removing the engine cover along with the strut brace and air intake duct. Start by clamping the coolant hoses to reduce fluid loss before disconnecting the throttle body electrical connector while releasing the electrical harness from the fuel pipe bracket clip. Before beginning uninstall the fuel hose from the bracket while also tagging and removing the throttle vacuum and coolant lines until completing the procedure. Seal all coolant lines using retainers. Detach and remove the throttle body while discarding the existing gasket by taking out the throttle body mounting bolts. The installation process follows the removal steps with a new gasket and correct torque when tightening the throttle body mounting bolts while checking for and possibly adding coolant.

Spray carburetor cleaner that's safe for oxygen sensors and converters directly into the air ducts from the engine, scrubbing it clean with a toothbrush for better results. Turn off the engine and wipe out the throttle body passage opening while the throttle plate is wide open. Leave the Throttle Position sensor and Idle Speed Control valve alone when cleaning. Unplug the car's power lead, take off the supporting bars and plate, engine hood, and the air intake filter. To work on the RX 350, first take apart the wiper arms, motor, and side seals, as well as the plastic cowl above the windshield. Start by clamping off the coolant hoses to save any potential loss, disconnect the electrical wire from the throttle body, pull its electrical connector away from the clip on the fuel pipe holder, and remove the clip. Unscrew the fuel hose from the fuel pipe bracket and carefully connect the necessary vacuum and coolant hoses from the throttle body. Plug the coolant hoses to stop fluid draining while you work. Separate the throttle body from its mounting bolts, then take off the body and throw away the damaged gasket. Follow these steps back in reverse to reinstall, using a new gasket and tightly screwing on the throttle body bolts to their correct torque levels. Check the coolant level and fill to the correct point if needed.
