Lexus 83320-0E010 Fuel Sender Gage Assembly

Remove the rear seat. Pull the fuel pump/sending unit floor service hole cover off gently with a screwdriver. Lower fuel pressure and unscrew the fuel tank lid to empty. Twist and remove the fuel pump electricity wire connection by pulling up on the release button at its base, using pliers if you need to. Take off the black ground wire from the power battery. Take off the top fuel-supply line by removing the clip, pulling up, and checking the O-ring for damage before securing a replacement. For vehicles made before 2007, remove bolts holding the fuel pump and fuel level sensor assembly to its housing. Grasp the fuel pump/Fuel Level Sensor assembly from the fuel tank, with gentle tilting, to avoid hurting the fuel inlet strainer and sending unit float, loosening and moving the spring-type hose holder so you can disconnect the hose. First look at the strainer connected to the fuel pump's intake. Clean it with solvent and a brush if it's dirty. Get a new strainer when needed. Undoing the installation is just the reverse of undoing it.

The options are to replace the entire assembly or disassemble it and replace specific components such as the fuel inlet strainer, fuel pressure regulator, fuel return jet tube, fuel pump, fuel filter, or fuel level sending unit.

Inspect it for contamination and clean if necessary.
