These engine mounts differ slightly in ways that do not significantly impact the check and replacement procedures. Begin by removing the access plugs at the subframe, followed by the nuts from the lower engine mount. Carefully raise the engine until the engine mount studs clear the subframe, then remove the nut from the top of the mount and angle the engine mount from the vehicle; it may be necessary to loosen the other mounts at the subframe to provide extra clearance for raising the engine. The driver's side access plugs and mounting nuts for the left side transaxle mount are located accordingly. For models equipped with the Active Control Engine Mount System, disconnect the electrical connectors at the front engine mount prior to removing the mounting nuts. The location of the rear engine/driveaxle mount through-bolt should be noted. Finally, remove the movement-control rod bolts and the engine movement control rod, followed by the mounting bolts and the engine mounting brace.

Installation is the reverse of the removal. Use thread-locking compound on the bolts and ensure they are tightened securely.

During the check, the engine must be raised slightly to remove the weight from the mounts.
