Relieve the fuel pressure. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the engine covers. Remove the cowl assembly. For four-cylinder models, remove the air filter housing. Remove the wiring harness mounting clips. Disconnect the injector electrical connectors and remove the fuel rail mounting bolts. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail. Remove the fuel rail with the fuel injectors attached. Remove the fuel injector(s) from the fuel rail and set them aside in a clearly labeled storage container. Note: Remove the spacers and injector grommets from the cylinder head if they didn't come off when the fuel rail was removed. If you intend to re-use the same injectors, replace the grommets and O-rings. For V6 models, remove the air filter housing. Remove the upper intake manifold. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel rail. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors and remove the fuel rail mounting fasteners. Remove the fuel rail and injectors as a single assembly. Remove the fuel injector(s) from the fuel rail and set them aside in a clearly labeled storage container. If you intend to re-use the same injectors, replace the grommets and O-rings. Installation of the fuel injectors is the reverse of removal. Tighten the fuel rail mounting bolts.
