After replacing the brake shoes, you should install the brake drum, wheel, and lug nuts. Then, lower the vehicle and torque the lug nuts. Finally, adjust the brakes by making forward and reverse stops and operating the parking brake until achieving satisfactory pedal action. Thoroughly test the brake operation before driving the vehicle.

Install the torque plate and brake caliper, tightening the bolts to the specified torque.

With the assembly done, install the brake disc and use three wheel lug nuts to secure it. Remove the hole plug from the disc and adjust the parking brake shoe clearance using a tool or screwdriver until shoe-disc contact prevents disc turning. Back off the adjuster by eight notches, then replace the hole plug, ensuring the shoes don't drag on the disc. Install the caliper mounting bracket, followed by the brake caliper, and ensure that the bolts are properly tightened.

Perform a brake booster check by starting the engine with the brake fully depressed and observing pedal movement. The pedal travel should remain consistent. Turn off the engine, hold the pedal for 30 seconds, and restart the engine to confirm decreased pedal travel with each subsequent application. Check the parking brake by counting clicks when engaging it with the handle or pedal. Adjust the parking brake if the click count deviates from the specified value. Alternatively, verify parking brake effectiveness on a steep hill in Neutral; if the vehicle rolls, perform parking brake adjustments.
