Disconnect the battery terminal's black cable first. Disconnect the top headlight bolts to loosen the upper housing from the cross-bar underneath the radiator. Remove the grille and the bumper cover. To take off the headlight on Lexus cars built from 2004 onward, unscrew the bolt on the lower outside edge of the housing. Remove the headlight housing easiest by pulling upward on the mounting bracket of Lexus models. Open the two retaining clips on the bottom of the headlight housing, secure the headlight and draw it out carefully, moving it forward just enough to access the wiring harness points on the backside of the housing. Take out the headlight housing first, then disconnect its electrical connectors from both headlights and side/tail signal lights. Pull down the horizontal adjuster to align the beams once the housing is in place. You can safely take apart the electrical connections with a small squeeze of the release tab, then remove each connector without force. If your headlight housing breaks from damage, you need to order a new one, but if just the mounting bracket is broken, special repair kits are available. To reinstall a new headlight, first adjust the position.
