- Q: How to remove and replace the headlight housing on Lexus RX350?A:Pull the negative terminal's cable and remove it. Novice the upper headlight mounting bolts off to decommission the upper segment of the headlight housing from the upper radiator cross member. Take off the grille and the bumper cover off the car. For Lexus models of 1999 to 2003, two mounting nuts that are on the outer edge of the headlight housing will need to be loosened, for models after 2004, at the outer lower corner of the housing there is a headlight housing retaining bolt that needs to be loosened. Lift up the mounting bracket and the locator pin become loose at the upper mounting bolt bracket. Release the two headlight housing clips on the low part of the housing by holding the headlight and then gently pulling the headlight out and pull the housing only enough to reveal the electrical sockets on the back side of the headlight. Remove the headlight housing by unscrewing, unbolt or unclamping the headlight housing and apart from that remove the electrical connectors from the headlights and the turn signal /side marker light. There are two headlight connectors which are unclip-able by cheering the release tab and pulling off the connector and one more connector of turn signal/parking and side maker light is unclip-able in the same way. If the headlight housing has been damaged then the whole housing will be required, however if only the headlight housing mounting bracket, is broken then there are kits available. Removal is done in the reverse procedure as installation and make sure to check the headlight adjustment when through.
